How:
Log in weekly. Track carpool trips to work in My Trip Diary, located in your 511 RideMatch account. Carpool to work a minimum of eight (8) times per month during October 2010 through August 2012 and you will automatically be entered into a monthly drawing for rewards.
Prizes include: grocery gift cards worth $100, a 2GB iPod Shuffle with a $10 iTunes Gift Card.
Get started: Register with the 511 RideMatch Service. Make sure your profile is accurate and complete.

- One (1) grand prize of $500 in grocery gift cards will be randomly awarded (each of the following months) in December 2010, January - December 2011 and January - August, 2012 to a commuter who has carpooled to work and logged a minimum of 24 carpool trips in 90 days (a minimum of eight per month).
As soon as you sign-up in the 511 RideMatch Service, you'll have instant access to potential carpool partners who live and work near you. Contact the people on your list and try carpooling to work with anyone having a similar schedule. For additional help call 511 and say, “Rideshare.”
*Note: Transporting children to school or daycare does not qualify participants for this carpool reward.
Eligibility and Prize Details:
Five (5) commuters will win $100 in grocery gift cards each month from October 2010 through August 2012.
One (1) grand prize of $500 in grocery gift cards will be awarded each month, from October 2010 through August 2012.
One (1) iPod Shuffle with a $10 iTunes gift card will be awarded each month from October 2010 through August 2012.
All grocery gift cards are distributed in $10 increments and are redeemable only at the indicated retail locations noted on the gift card. Prizes will be awarded to newly- and currently-registered carpoolers who sign-up for the 511 RideMatch Service for the purpose of commuting to work and who complete a commute log that includes a minimum of eight (8) days of carpooling to work each month. Random drawings will be held on the last day of the month or the next business day that follows. Winners will be notified within 14 business days of the drawing by e-mail, telephone, or USPS mail.
511 RideMatch profiles must be accurate and complete to participate. A completed profile includes a full first name (no initials), last name (no initials), home address with unit or apartment number, e-mail address, and a minimum of one telephone number for home, mobile, or work. In addition, work address must be complete. Incomplete profiles or mailing addresses with PO Boxes will not qualify. Prize(s) will be mailed to participants via USPS approximately 4-6 weeks from the date of notification and information verification. 511 Rideshare is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged gift cards and prizes.

Only one RideMatch profile per applicant is allowed to enter the promotion and multiple profiles of a single commuter will disqualify participants from the drawings. Eligible participants must have a complete and valid mailing address (PO Boxes are not allowed), and participants must live or work in the nine-county Bay Area. (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, Sonoma Counties.)
Promotional Guidelines and Disclaimer:
The 511 Regional Rideshare Program (511 Rideshare) has the right to terminate this program with or without notice at any time for any reason. Transporting children to school or daycare does not qualify for the incentive. All information supplied by the participant shall be correct, current and complete. 511 Rideshare has the right to refuse applications and/or discontinue participation in the program, including the right to withhold the incentive, if 511 Rideshare staff/representatives believe that the participant has failed to meet the eligibility or participation guidelines. 511 Rideshare reserves the right to contact you, your carpool partner(s) and your office supervisor to verify the information provided. If a dispute arises regarding any aspect of the program, regarding interpretation of the rules, accuracy of the information, or eligibility to participate, 511 Rideshare will be the final decision-maker regarding such a dispute and all decisions will be final. The $500 Grand prize winner grants 511 Rideshare the right to use his/her name, photograph, quotes and / or likeness for promotional purposes.
Employees and contract employees of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD), the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC), Parsons Brinckerhoff (PB), or any Bay Area County Congestion Management Agency, or 511 Rideshare & Bicycling are not eligible to participate in the random drawings.
